How does the digital game work? Each game includes illustrated, step by step instructions and because the format of each game is similar, once students can play one game, they can play them all. Students place the game marker on the game and slide the die cover up to the ‘dice eater’ to reveal the amount of their first ‘roll’. They move their marker that amount of spaces and record the answer – just like a regular board game. Two recording sheets are included for students playing in pairs.
How does the ‘emailable’ game work? In the pack, you’ll find a PDF ‘emailable’ game to match each google slide game. Step by step instructions are included to show students and their parents how to make a game counter (adult help will be required initially). Students just require a coin to move – heads move 2 spaces, tails move 5. Students click in the editable field and type in their answers. A black ink game is also included for parents wishing to print out the game or for teachers wanting to send it home.
Using the printable literacy center game You’ll find two different formats for the classroom printable game in this pack. One format is quarter-sized (to fit in photo cases) and the other is half-sized (1/2 8.5″ x 11″). If your students have vision or fine motor difficulties, it is recommended to use the larger sized paper for the center.
Terms of Use
These games are for single classroom use. Teachers may send the games home to students, either in printed or digital format. The games are not to be placed on any platform that is not secure, for example, if a site doesn’t require a password to access it, it is not secure.
Here’s what teachers who have used this pack have said:
♥ “I use this resource with concepts I am teaching and review, it goes in a word work tub and students are able to choose a game to work on. They love them and keeps them engaged the whole time during word work.” Jamie S.
♥ “These centers have been a blessing to have during the reading block time with my below level students. They love that they are games, plus the teacher in me loves they are learning but not even thinking they are ? Plus my above level students are great with them because they get to keep that foundation sturdy.” Michelle D.
♥ “I have used these both with my students as well as allowing them to play in groups by themselves. They love the game aspect and are excited to play them. It also is a great way for me to check for understanding in a fun and different way.” Kellee G.
